Around The Horn
ESPN’s Around the Horn is well-known for its lively, rapid-fire pace. In creating the new virtual set and augmented reality graphics package, Girraphic devised the “Virtual Window” concept designed to complement that style.
Girraphic incorporated the initial concept, iconography and opening animation into their real-time Depth Monitor build, Augmented build, Insert graphics build and customisable Touchscreen application to control it all. It was a total team effort funnelled through the creative
service department at ESPN.
Using multiple virtual depth monitors, the Virtual Window creates a virtual set with a major advantage – the host can see it, allowing them to react and adjust in real-time.
Girraphic also created a touch screen interface, allowing talent to control all AR activations and score-keeping, creating an unprecedented level of ease and flexibility. It’s augmented reality that never gets in the way and creating only enhancements, at the simple press of a button.

Tencent NBA
Early in 2016 Girraphic won a large tender process to facilitate the production of the NBA coverage for the Chinese broadcaster Tencent.
This project entailed the branding, design, build, data integration & programming of all graphic elements across the entire production. Girraphic programmers harnessed the NBA Stats feed and wrote a custom application to allow control from directly inside the VizRT Trio Interface for the main in-show online package. This allowed a single interface for operators to control both data driven and manual templates for the broadcast from a single interface.
From this custom interface the operators were able to control assets for all inshow elements including, Supers, FF’s, OTS, Custom Tickers and Ribbon Boards.

Sky Racing Rebrand
Tencent Sports Rebranding

Girraphic rebranded the Tencent Sports Broadcast package in 2018. This included developing different sports areas such as NBA, Chinese basketball, E-Sports, FIBA, and soccer.
Combining the sport broadcast identities made each Tencent broadcast immediately identifiable regardless of the content type. This unification established a baseline for things like online promos and base graphic packages for each sport.
The package was based on the same visual style by defining a different color and a different icon for each section to visually unify the Tencent brand under a unique graphic style. We re-imagined Tencent Sports which brought the brand into a new level of complexity and fresh identity.

Teleton Chile
Teletón is a traditional charity event established in 1978 that takes place every year in Chile, raising funds to provide treatment to thousands of Chilean children with disabilities.
Teletón is a 27-hour marathon in which all the country’s television stations come together, broadcasting the event as a whole.
In 2018 GIRRAPHIC worked with Teletón in the production of graphics for Video Wall and moderation of Social Media networks and by 2020 the production of the event asked GIRRAPHIC to provide the entire VizRT graphic system and its complete branding portfolio.
An unprecedented event marked Teletón 2020. This year, it had to be carried out in an almost 100% interactive way to overlap with the pandemic caused by COVID-19.
Our staff was there and worked with the same professionalism and dedication that characterizes each one of GIRRAPHIC productions.

Supercars Championship
After 8 years of working on the Supercars Championship for Network Ten and Channel Seven while in a role at another broadcast services company, Craig and Nate started Girraphic.
Shortly afterward the Supercars Championship team approached them to take over the services and take them a step further. Over the past two years the Girraphic team has supervised and facilitated the entire graphic production including: custom application, data integration, graphics builds, virtual signage, NCam virtual integrations and most recently the on-board telemetry.

Fifa World Cup
One of the biggest companies in China, Tencent, contracted Girraphic to develop the 2018 FIFA World Cup package for their broadcast. This project covered a wide range of graphics and resources to support the broadcast from their headquarters in Beijing and from a virtual studio from Moscow.
We used the power of Augmented Reality graphics to go beyond the traditional presentation to present pre and post-match analysis. Girraphic built, textured and animated a virtual set which contained real-time data-driven augmented graphics, two virtual screens, and realistic stadiums. The camera was able to fly “inside” the virtual stadiums to show team line ups, game statistics and weather conditions. The virtual screens displayed viewer messages from the Chinese Social Media network WeChat, which helped drive the analysis throughout the broadcast. The physical studio in Beijing was also part of this project, requiring a re-skin to the multi-format set screens. The content in these screens mirrored that of virtual studio screens in Russia, this ensured continuity between the two studios.

Seven News Rebranding Concept
The Seven Network logo is one of the most iconic in Australian broadcasting and great care was taken to strengthen the brand.
The concept was to develop a polished feel to the network with the glass finish to the design. Atop this is the layers built into the logo as it speaks to the depth of which news is reported.
